April 29th 2010 block work started!!!

Well at last the builder has started the block work! The last two weeks have seen good progress. Next week the lintels will be cast on site, don't ask why don't they just buy them ready made, remember this is France! The roof should be completed by the end of May so that will mean Tony can get the window and doors in then real progress should start to be made. By the way please notice the colour of the sky, its been great! Well must close keep watching!

The base!

Well after a 3 week break (we don't know why!) the builder is back and the base has been completed. See the photos which show the stages of the base including the services being put in. One photo shows Marilyn putting in 46 conifeers along the bottom hedge, only another 250 to go! Hope the blockwork starts next week!

Bad week, no work at all!! Hope to see a big push this coming week. Picture is of our first window in solid oak, made by Tony Boswell. Tony is a real tradesman, it’s really great to meet someone who really cares about producing quality work, takes me back to when I served my apprentice at Courtaulds and had the luck to work with craftsmen like Tony.
